Moon Sighted, Eidul Azha in Pakistan on May 27

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad on Sunday announced that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah has been sighted in Pakistan and Eidul Azha will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27.

A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi to confirm the moon sighting, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Members of the central and zonal committees, along with experts from the Meteorological Department and SUPARCO, attended the meeting. Zonal committee meetings were also held in Islamabad and other provincial capitals.

According to sources, two members of the central committee reported seeing the moon during the meeting.

In addition, three moon-sighting reports were received from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two witnesses from Mardan, Muhammad and Ahmad, confirmed the sighting, while another report came from Peshawar.
