NAB summons Usman Buzdar for issuing illegal liquor license to a hotel

LAHORE: The winds of accountability began to change, the National Accountability Bureau has summoned Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar for issuing illegal liquor license to a private hotel.

According to a notice, CM Punjab has been summoned by NAB Lahore on August 12. Sardar Usman Bazdar had exercised his powers and influence to issue liquor license to a private hotel, added in the notice.

NAB sources said that a close relative of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar got financial benefit for issuing illegal liquor license to a private hotel. Director General of Excise had been asked “to neglect” the rules and regulations, said the sources.

On the other hand, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter and PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz has also been summoned by NAB Lahore on August 11 in a case related to sale and purchase of land.

Former Prime Minister’s daughter Maryam Nawaz is accused of buying very expensive land in Lahore at a low price and later selling it at high prices. The National Accountability Bureau has sent notices to Maryam Nawaz and other accused.
