Nandipur Power Reference, Babar Awan’s acquittal decision upheld

 

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has upheld the acquittal of Babar Awan, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Justice (retd) Riaz Kayani in the Nandipur Power Reference.

A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah rejected the NAB’s appeals against the acquittal of Babar Awan and Justice (retd) Riaz Kayani by the accountability court in the Nandipur reference.

On the other hand, former law secretary Masood Chishti had challenged the decision of the accountability court in rejecting the plea of ​​acquittal in the Nandipur reference.

On June 25, 2019, the Accountability Court had accepted the plea of ​​Babar Awan and Riaz Kayani in the Nandipur reference and rejected the plea of ​​Masood Chishti.
