ISLAMABAD: Pakistan spinner Nauman Ali has etched his name in cricket history after delivering a remarkable performance in the Dhaka Test against Bangladesh.

The left-arm spinner reached the milestone of 100 Test wickets during the second innings of the match, achieving the feat in just his 22nd Test. With this, he becomes the third-fastest spinner from Pakistan to reach the landmark.

Nauman surpassed former greats Saqlain Mushtaq and Danish Kaneria, both of whom had taken 23 matches to complete 100 wickets.

Among Pakistani bowlers, the record for the fastest 100 Test wickets remains with Yasir Shah, who achieved it in 17 matches, followed by Saeed Ajmal in 19 Tests.

In addition to this achievement, Nauman Ali also set a unique global record. At the age of 39 years and 218 days, he became the oldest bowler in Test cricket history to reach 100 wickets, marking an extraordinary accomplishment in the sport.

His performance not only highlights his consistency and skill but also places him among elite spinners in international cricket, reinforcing Pakistan’s strong legacy in spin bowling.
