ISLAMABAD: A group of 10 countries, including Pakistan, Türkiye, Spain, and Indonesia, has strongly condemned Israeli attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers described the flotilla as a peaceful civilian initiative aimed at drawing international attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.
The statement expressed deep concern over repeated actions targeting civilian vessels and human rights activists in international waters.
It emphasized that such attacks constitute a clear violation of international law and principles of maritime freedom, urging the global community to take notice of the situation.
The participating countries also called for the immediate release of all detained activists and stressed the need to ensure their safety, dignity, and legal rights.
They warned that continued targeting of humanitarian missions undermines global norms and sets a dangerous precedent.
Reiterating their commitment to humanitarian values, the foreign ministers urged the international community to take practical steps to ensure the protection of aid missions and hold those responsible accountable.
