ISLAMABAD: United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss humanitarian cooperation and regional issues.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar commended the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) for its humanitarian response during global conflicts and natural disasters. He also praised OCHA’s support to Pakistan during climate change-related disasters.
The deputy prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for OCHA’s humanitarian mission, describing the agency’s efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories as critically important.
Fletcher, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s longstanding contributions and valuable role within the United Nations.
