Pakistan Prepares for ODI Series Against Australia

LAHORE: Pakistan has finalized its preparation plan for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Australia national cricket team, with a training camp for locally available players under consideration.

According to sources, discussions are ongoing between selectors, the team captain, and head coach Mike Hesson regarding the list of players to be included in the camp. During the camp, white-ball specialists are expected to participate in practice matches to improve their readiness for the series.

The announcement of the probable players’ camp is expected within the next couple of days. Names under consideration include Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Haider Ali, Shadab Khan, and Saad Baig.

Other players being considered are Ahmed Daniyal, Faisal Akram, Hunain Shah, Aamer Jamal, Khawaja Nafay, and Arafat Minhas. Additionally, Salman Mirza, Sufiyan Muqeem, Usman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Ali Raza, and Haris Rauf are also part of the preliminary list. Abdul Samad, Moaz Sadaqat, Mehran Mumtaz, and Akif Javed are among other candidates.

The inclusion of fast bowler Naseem Shah will depend on his fitness assessment, with a final decision expected after medical evaluation.

The series is considered an important opportunity for Pakistan to test its bench strength and finalize combinations ahead of future international commitments.
