Pakistan Raises Alarm Over Gaza Health Crisis

GENEVA: Pakistan has voiced deep concern over the humanitarian and health crisis in Gaza, accusing Israel of actions that have devastated the territory’s healthcare system and violated international law.

Speaking at the World Health Assembly, Pakistan’s First Secretary Adeel Khokhar said the destruction of hospitals, medical convoys, healthcare facilities and the killing of medical personnel represent grave breaches of international law.

He said that beyond direct attacks on health infrastructure, the use of starvation, denial of clean water and restrictions on fuel, medicines and other essential supplies have pushed Gaza’s health system to the brink of total and irreversible collapse.

Highlighting Pakistan’s continued support for the Palestinian cause, Khokhar reaffirmed that Pakistan stands with the Palestinian people in their struggle for the right to self-determination.

He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the establishment of a sovereign, independent and contiguous State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
