ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for stronger Pakistan-Sweden cooperation in renewable energy, sustainable technologies, information technology and agriculture, highlighting the potential for expanding bilateral ties across diverse fields.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Sweden, Ahmed Amjad Ali, who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The president stressed the importance of parliamentary exchanges and visits by political leaders to further strengthen relations between Pakistan and Sweden.
Congratulating Ahmed Amjad Ali on his appointment, President Zardari noted the friendly relations between the two countries and said Pakistan and Sweden shared common perspectives on several important international issues.
He highlighted their shared commitment to multilateralism, the rules-based international order, human rights and democracy.
The president also underscored the need to explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in areas that can support sustainable development, technological advancement and economic growth.
He expressed hope that the ambassador would play an effective role in further strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and Sweden.
