WASHINGTON: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the headquarters of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Washington, where he met FBI Director Kash Patel to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in counterterrorism, cybersecurity and law enforcement.
According to officials, the meeting focused on expanding collaboration between Pakistan and the United States in combating terrorism, preventing terror financing, cybercrime investigations, specialized training, resource sharing and strengthening institutional ties between law enforcement agencies.
Following the meeting, FBI Director Kash Patel said the United States values Pakistan’s cooperation in counterterrorism efforts and remains committed to working jointly to safeguard regional security and shared interests.
He noted that both sides held detailed discussions on improving cooperation in intelligence sharing, cyber investigations, capacity building and other security-related areas.
Patel reaffirmed that the partnership with Pakistan remains important and expressed optimism that the two countries would continue to deepen collaboration in counterterrorism and broader security cooperation.
The meeting is being viewed as a significant step towards further expanding security and law enforcement cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
