Pervaiz Elahi indicted in kickback case

LAHORE: Former chief minister of Punjab and PTI leader Pervaiz Elahi has been indicted in a corruption case. 

An accountability court in Lahore conducted the proceedings and indicted Elahi. As the mailing PTI leader could not enter the courtroom his attendence was marked by taking his signature while remained in his vehicle outside the court.

Elahi is charged with taking kickbacks of millions of rupees from contractors in development projects as the chief minister of Punjab.

The accountability court adjourned further hearing after indicting Elahi; however, he refused to accept the charges framed by the National Accountability Bureau.

The court stated that statements of the witnesses would be recorded in the next hearing. Further proceeding in the case was adjourned.
