GILGIT: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Gilgit on a one-day official visit, where he was received by Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (R) Yar Muhammad.
During his visit, the Prime Minister held separate meetings with the Governor and the Caretaker Chief Minister. Discussions focused on ongoing development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, the overall law and order situation, and other administrative matters related to the region.
A number of federal ministers and senior officials accompanied the Prime Minister, including Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Attaullah Tarar, Engineer Amir Muqam, Abdul Aleem Khan, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Advisor Rana Sanaullah, and Special Assistant Talha Barqi.
According to officials, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several development initiatives during the visit, including renewable energy (solar power) projects, a Safe Cities program, a laptop distribution scheme, and youth business and agricultural loan schemes. He is also expected to lay the foundation stones of four Danish schools in the region.
