SKARDU: Political activities reached momentum ahead of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections as First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari arrived in Skardu to join her party’s election campaign on Tuesday.
Upon her arrival, she was received by GB Governor Syed Mehdi Shah. She is scheduled to participate in campaign activities of the Pakistan Peoples Party and will address a public gathering later today.
Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is already present in Gilgit-Baltistan, where he is holding key meetings with local party leadership as part of the ongoing campaign strategy.
On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif, president of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, is expected to arrive in Gilgit-Baltistan on a one-day visit. During his trip, he will meet party leaders and candidates and is set to unveil his party’s “Vision Gilgit-Baltistan” plan.
However, party sources indicate that Nawaz Sharif will not address any public gatherings during his visit.
The arrival of top political leaders from major parties highlights the increasing intensity of the election campaign, with all sides making strong efforts to mobilize support across the region.
