PSX Index Gains Over 900 Points

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed strong buying activity at the opening of the new trading week, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining more than 900 points and reclaiming the 182,000-point level.

The KSE-100 Index rose by over 900 points during early trading to reach 182,347 points, reflecting a strong positive trend in the market.

The benchmark index had closed at 181,430 points at the end of the previous trading session on the last business day of the preceding week.

The latest surge has restored the index above the 182,000-point psychological level and reflects renewed investor interest at the start of the trading week.

Market activity remained positive as investors responded to the prevailing trading environment, pushing the benchmark index higher from its previous closing level.

The strong opening comes after the stock market recorded a weekly gain of around three percent in the previous week, indicating continued positive momentum in equities.

The recovery in the benchmark index is being closely watched by investors as market participants assess economic developments and corporate performance.

The KSE-100 Index is considered a key indicator of investor sentiment and overall market performance at the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Sustained gains in the index can reflect increased buying interest, while continued market strength may further improve investor confidence.

At the start of Monday’s session, the more than 900-point rise placed the benchmark at 182,347 points, marking a notable recovery from its previous close.

Investors and market participants will continue to monitor trading activity throughout the session to determine whether the early gains can be sustained by the end of the trading day.
