GILGIT: A political alliance has been formed between Tehreek-e-Islami Pakistan and the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party ahead of the upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, as political maneuvering intensifies in the region.
According to reports, Tehreek-e-Islami candidate Wazir Ilyas has withdrawn in favor of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s candidate. The party’s central general secretary, Allama Shabbir Mithami, formally announced support for Raja Jalal Hussain in constituency Skardu-I (GB-1).
Following the alliance, Raja Jalal Hussain stated that the agreement has strengthened his political position. As the election date approaches, political activity and competition among parties continue to escalate across Gilgit-Baltistan.
