LONDON: Pakistani High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal has said that lasting peace in South Asia is not possible without resolving the Kashmir issue.

In his statement, he described the recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India as a positive step and expressed hope that it would be long-lasting.

Dr. Faisal appreciated the role of the United States, stating that it played a significant part in facilitating the ceasefire between the two countries. Speaking about the Pahalgam incident, he said that those involved must be punished according to the law, but unilateral actions are unacceptable.

He further stated that India itself has complicated the issues, and if it abides by international law, the disputes between the two nations can be resolved peacefully.
