ISLAMABAD: Ronaldo delivered a historic performance as Portugal defeated Uzbekistan in a FIFA World Cup 2026 group-stage match, setting multiple records in the process.

The 41-year-old star opened the scoring in the sixth minute, becoming the first player in football history to score in six different World Cup editions, spanning from 2006 to 2026. He has now found the net in every tournament he has played.

Ronaldo struck again in the 39th minute, further cementing his legacy by becoming Portugal’s all-time leading scorer in World Cup history with a total of 10 goals, surpassing the previous record held by Eusébio, who had scored nine.

With his latest goal, Ronaldo also became one of the oldest goal scorers in World Cup history. Notably, he had earlier held the distinction of being Portugal’s youngest World Cup goal scorer, making his achievement even more remarkable.

His record-breaking performance is being widely regarded as one of the most significant individual feats in World Cup history.
