DOHA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha and expressed condolences over the passing of former Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, praising his visionary leadership, statesmanship, and contributions to Qatar’s development. He said that under his leadership, Qatar emerged as a modern, stable, and prosperous state.
The prime minister highlighted the former emir’s efforts for peace, stability, and development in the region, saying that his services would always be remembered. He added that the government and people of Pakistan stand with the Qatari leadership and people during this difficult time.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif, and the Pakistani delegation also offered Fateha and prayed for the forgiveness and elevation of the late former emir’s ranks.
The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar.
During the meeting, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani delegation for visiting Doha to convey their condolences.
