KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened the new trading week on a strong positive note, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index soaring by more than 5,100 points during early trading.
The sharp rally lifted the index to approximately 176,200 points, marking a significant recovery after heavy losses recorded in the previous trading session.
The rebound comes just two days after the market experienced a steep decline that pushed the KSE-100 Index below the 170,000-point mark. On the final trading day of last week, the benchmark had fallen by more than 1,800 points, closing early trading around 169,885 points amid broad-based selling pressure.
Sunday’s strong opening indicates renewed investor confidence, although market analysts say it remains to be seen whether the gains can be sustained throughout the trading session.
Investors are expected to closely monitor economic developments, corporate announcements, and policy measures that could influence market sentiment in the coming days.
