RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi District Health Authority has dismissed 16 employees on charges of corruption, misconduct, and unsatisfactory performance.

The decision marks the latest step in a series of disciplinary actions being pursued by the authority to address widespread irregularities within the department.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health Rawalpindi, Dr. Ehsan Ghani, confirmed that proceedings for the dismissal of an additional 200 employees are currently in progress. He explained that these measures are being taken due to persistent violations of discipline and consistently disappointing performance levels.

According to him, the action is part of a wider accountability drive designed to enforce transparency and efficiency within the health sector of the district.

Dr. Ghani further noted that 14 employees have been penalized with the deduction of one month’s salary, while three others have had their annual increments withheld.

He also disclosed that inquiries are underway against more than 500 employees whose performance throughout the year has been deemed unsatisfactory, adding that strict measures will continue until significant improvements are achieved.

The large-scale crackdown reflects the administration’s growing determination to restore professional standards, reduce corruption, and ensure public trust in the functioning of the District Health Authority.
