2025’s Final Anti-Polio Drive Aims To Cover Over 45m Children
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will hold its final nationwide polio vaccination campaign for 2025 from December 15 to 21, aiming to protect millions of children from lifelong disability caused by polio.
According to the National Emergency Operations Center (EOC), more than 45 million children across the country will receive polio drops during this campaign, with over 400,000 frontline polio workers participating in administering the vaccines.
In Punjab, over 23 million children are expected to be vaccinated, while Sindh will cover more than 10.6 million children.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will vaccinate over 7.2 million children, Balochistan more than 2.6 million, Islamabad over 460,000, Gilgit-Baltistan over 228,000, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir over 760,000 children.
The National EOC has urged parents to fully cooperate with polio workers and ensure that their children receive timely vaccinations. Authorities also emphasized that all children from birth to 15 months should complete their routine immunization schedule.
This campaign is part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to eliminate polio and safeguard children from this debilitating disease.
