ISLAMABAD: The government has increased the price of kerosene by Rs 39.20 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs 358.01 per liter. Meanwhile, the federal government has decided to maintain the petroleum levy on petrol and diesel.

Petrol Levy: Rs 105.37 per liter

Diesel Levy: Rs 55.24 per liter

The Ministry of Energy stated that by keeping petrol and diesel prices unchanged, the government will provide a subsidy of Rs 23 billion, covering the period from March 14 to March 20, 2026. The per-liter subsidies are:

Petrol: Rs 49.63 per liter

Diesel: Rs 75.05 per liter

The subsidy payments, known as price differential claims, will be disbursed to oil marketing companies and verified by OGRA (Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority).

Additionally, the Cabinet has approved the establishment of a Prime Minister’s Austerity Fund, with Rs 27.1 billion allocated to it. The procedure for paying price differential claims will include verification and audit of bills submitted by oil marketing companies.
