475 Pakistanis crossed Syrian border into Lebanon: FO
ISLAMABAD: As many as 475 Pakistanis, with 250 pilgrims among them, have crossed the Syrian border into Lebanon. These Pakistanis will be brought back home from Beirut ince they all reach there.
This was stated by Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.
She said that the government of Pakistan appreciated the support extended by the government of Lebanon in facilitating the safe return of the stranded Pakistanis from Syria.
She said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s missions in Syria and Lebanon remained actively engaged in facilitating the process to make sure the Pakistanis crossed into Lebanon from Syria after the taking over of the rebels in that country.
Pakistan is following the developments in Syria and is concerned about escalation of violence.
She said the government of Pakistan had always supported the efforts, aimed at finding the comprehensive solution to the crisis in Syria.
“We express our full support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria,” she added.
