Over 400 Pakistani prisoners to be brought back from KSA soon

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia agree to implement prisoner exchange agreement.

ISLAMABAD: Legal process will be completed soon to bring back about 420 Pakistani prisoners languishing in jails of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

This was agreed at a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al Dawood in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The two countries also agreed to implement the prisoner exchange agreement under which people facing different charges and jailed in either country could be repatriated to their home country to complete their sentences. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Saudi Deputy Interior Minister said the Kingdom was desirous of further promoting its relations with Pakistan.

Mohsin Naqvi said zero tolerance policy had been adopted against beggars going to Saudi Arabia. He said an effective crackdown had been launched across the country against such beggar mafia.

He said there is no visa requirement for Saudi nationals to visit Pakistan and they can come to Pakistan whenever they want to.
