ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet was informed on Monday that after going through a competitive process and a detailed discussion by a selection committee Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar has been appointed as the new chairman of NADRA.
A meeting of the cabinet chaired by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar was also informed that the selection committee had shortlisted names of three best candidates for the post of the NADRA chairman.
Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir is currently working as the inspector general of the communication and IT wing at GHQ, Rawalpindi.
The participants of the meeting stressed the need for provision of skills to the youth of the country. The caretaker prime minister said professional education and vocational training programs should be prepared at par with the needs of the international market.
On recommendation of federal ministry of education and professional training, the federal cabinet also approved the service level amended agreement between National Vocational and Technical Training Commission and Saudi agency Takamol.
Moreover, a memorandum of understanding between Area Study Centre of the University of Peshawar and the Central Asia Study Centre of Corvinus University Hungary was also sanctioned.
