RAWALPINDI: The special court constituted under the Official Secrets Act on Monday fixed October 17th for indicting former prime minister Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the cipher case.
Special Court judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain held the hearing of the case inside the Adiala jail where the PTI chief Imran Khan and vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi are being kept in judicial remand in the same case.
When the judge started the trial, the two PTI leaders were produced in the special court. Lawyers defending the two jailed politicians and public prosecuted were also present.
The court also issued notices to witnesses to attend the proceedings on Oct 17th.
Imran Khan was arrested on August 5 in the Toshakhana corruption case snd shifted to the Attock jail from Lahore the same day after being sentenced to three years imprisonment.
However, later, Islamabad High Court suspended the sentence, but the former prime minister was kept in the jail in the cipher case.
He was last month shifted to the Adiala jail on the direction of the Islamabad High Court.
