Two former PTI MNAs arrested in Mansehra

Ali Nawaz Awan and Aamir Dogar were hiding in a house at Bafaphagal tehsil.

MANSEHRA: Two former members of the National Assembly belonging to jailed former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan were arrested from the district of Mansehra in Khyber Pakthunkhwa province.

The confirmation of the arrests of Ali Nawaz Awan and Aamir Dogar was made today though they were picked while hiding in the house of the president of PTI Bafaphagal tehsil yesterday.

Sources said that Razaullah Khan, the owner of the house, and his cousin were also arrested, though the police have not confirmed it yet.

The PTI in a reaction to the arrest stated that forcible disappearance of its leaders was shameful. It called upon the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of the matter.

It may be mentioned here that after the May 9 arson attacks on military installations, PTI leaders and supporters have been booked in different cases.

Over 100 PTI supporters are already in jail in the arson attacks case, but their trial by military courts was declared null and void by the Supreme Court of Pakistan last month.
