ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan, who is in the Adiala jail in the cipher case, has now also been arrested in two corruption cases Arleady registered against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir on Monday issued arrest warrants of the jailed former prime minister in the Toshakhana and 190 million pounds Al-Qadir Trust corruption cases with the direction to the jail superintendent to execute them.
A team from the anti-corruption watchdog later reached the Adiala jail with the court directions after which Imran Khan was arrested in these two cases as well.
It may be mentioned here that in August Imran Khan was arrested by a trial court in another Toshakhana case registered against him by the Election Commission of Pakistan for not showing gifts obtained from Toshakhana in his tax declaration.
Later, tge Islamabad High Court set aside the three-year sentence, but he was not released and kept in jail in the cipher case.
In the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case, Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are charged with receiving billions of rupees and hundreds of kanals of land from property tycoon Malik Riaz in exchange of legalizing Rs50 billions that were returned by the UK crime agency.
On May 9, NAB had arrested the former prime minister in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case that prompted the PTI supporters to take to streets and burn army installations.
