ISLAMAABAD: A seven-member delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Jamshid Khodjaev Abdukhakomovich at a meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in diverse fields such as defence, trade and connectivity.
The deputy prime minister of Uzbekistan expressed the hope that both the countries will continue active engagement for the completion of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Project.
Speaking on the occasion, the caretaker prime minister said easy visa procedures, improved banking channels and reciprocal warehousing facilities would further boost trade between the two countries.
Mr Kakar expressed satisfaction over the pace of engagements between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade, defence and connectivity.
He also appreciated the holding of the first trilateral meeting of the commerce ministers of Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in Islamabad.
He hoped that the business community of both the countries could easily achieve the bilateral trade target of $1 billion dollars soon.
