No one can justify killing of children, says caretaker PM

Reiterates Pakistan's stance for the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said on Wednesday that after killing thousands of people, including over 4700 children, Israel has no excuse for its aggression in Gaza.

He said Israel is committing horrific acts against unarmed Palestinians and nobody can rationalize killing of children.

He reiterated Pakistan’s stance for the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

the chances of external aggression against Pakistan have decreased to a minimum due to the country’s defense capabilities, especially its nuclear power.

has emphatically stated that Pakistan is fully capable to respond to the challenge posed by non-state actors.

He was speaking at Margalla Dialogue on “Evolving world environment charting the course for our future” in Islamabad. He said Pakistan did not have to rely on outside security apparatus. We are confident and self-reliant to take on the challenge. 

Mr Kakar said that with a huge population under the age of 30 years, Pakistan has a great potential to be channelized and tapped.

About the lingering issue of Kashmir, he said the main impediment in its resolution was the intrasigance of India. He said the resolution of the dispute as per aspirations of Kashmiri people was imperative. 

Kakar said there are challenges such as climate change which cannot be taken on their own either by one single power or even a group of powers.    

He said climate change is becoming an existential threat. He stressed for global coordination and cooperation to deal with this issue.
