Kashmir Solidarity Day to expose Indian atrocities

Rallies, demonstrations in Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and different parts of world will remind international community of its obligations towards Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD: The nation is observing Feb 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day to renew its unflinching support to the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir and condemn India for its occupation of the area in complete disregard to international laws and the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Rallies and seminars will be held in Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and different parts of the world to remind the international community of its obligations towards self-determination right of the people of occupied Kashmir. 

 In a press release, the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs said a rally will be held in Islamabad to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people on the Constitution. One minute silence will be observed at 09:30 am to pay homage to the martyrs of Kashmir, it added.

Rallies will also be held in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and other cities across the country. The government has already announced a public holiday on Monday. 

Thousands of people are also expected to take out a rally in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, against the illegal occupation of Kashmir by India and atrocities being committed by the occupying forces in the valley. 

Similarly, public rallies will be held in Gilgit and Skardu towns of Gilgit-Baltistan where the people will express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.

The Kashmir Solidarity Day has become an annual feature to renew support to the Kashmiris and expose Indian atrocities on the indigenous people.
