Govt renews resolve to eliminate terrorism at all costs

Law minister informs National Assembly that government is committed to taking firm action against terrorists and their facilitators.

ISLAMABAD: The government has informed the National Assembly that it was going to take stringent measures to eliminate terrorism at all costs.

In reply to a calling attention notice, Law minister Azam Nazeer Tarar told the National Assembly that the government was committed to taking firm action against terrorists and their facilitators. The call attention notice was moved in the wake of a terrorist attack on Chinese engineers in KP a few weeks ago and another carried out on a vehicle of five Japanese in Karachi on Friday.

The minister said that the government had zero tolerance towards terrorists and was extending full support to provinces to deal with the menace.

It may be noted that terror attacks in the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have increased in recent months in which a large number of security forces personnel were martyred. These attacks are being carried out by elements hiding in Afghanistan.

A few days ago, security forces killed seven terrorists trying to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan. Huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession. The government says that enemies of Pakistan are behind these terrorist attacks to sabotage CPEC.
