Kyrgyzstan apologizes for distress to students, their families

LONDON: While hundreds of terrorized students returned home after the mob attacks on them, Kyrgyzstan today assured Pakistan of taking steps to ensure safety and well-being of all foreign students, including Pakistanis.
This assurance was given by Kyrgyzstan Education Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva while meeting her Pakistani counterpart Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in London.
The Kyrgyz minister expressed regret and apologized for the incidents that had caused distress to Pakistani students and their families.
Dr Siddiqui reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining trust and strengthening relations between the two countries. He also underscored the importance of providing a peaceful environment for Pakistani students to continue their studies.
