Trump tries to avoid debate with Harris

ATLANTA: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump seems trying to avoid debate with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris by offering her an encounter on Fox News on Sept. 4.

However, Harris accused Trump of trying to back out of a debate that had already been set to run on ABC.

The rules would be similar to the first debate with President Joe Biden, who has since dropped his reelection bid, Trump said in a post, opens new tab on Truth Social late on Friday. But this time it would have a “full arena audience” and take place in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, Trump said, according to Reuters.

Trump in a debate with President Joe Biden had gotten an upper hand, causing criticism of the president that finally forced him to bow out of the presidential race.

Harris campaign director says Trump is trying to run away from the already scheduled debate on ABC, which would not be acceptable.
