Protests held against Nasrallah’s killing, FO condemns Israel

Embassy in Beirut continues efforts to facilitate Pakistani nationals caught up in crisis situation in Lebanon.

ISLAMABAD: While protests were held in different cities of Pakistan against the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, the Foreign Office in Islamabad condemned growing Israeli adventurism in the Middle East.

People in a large number took to streets in different cities to condemn the killing by Israel of Hezbollah leader. They chanted slogans against the US for openly backing the state of Israel involved in massacre of innocent Palestinians. Several protesters were injured after they clashed with police in Karachi.

“Its unbridled attacks on civilian populations and disregard of international law have reached alarming levels,” said the Foreign office in a statement.

Israeli forces have engaged in unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of Lebanon, relentlessly targeting civilian population centers, and undermining its stability and security. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of Israeli aggression and the people of Lebanon.

Yesterday’s reckless act of killing the secretary general of Hezbollah in Lebanon constitutes a major escalation in an already volatile region, said FO.
