More relief goods dispatched to Gaza, Lebanon

Items of daily use arranged by NDMA in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation.

KARACHI: Another consignment of relief goods was dispatched from Karachi to the war-affected people of Gaza and Lebanon on Thursday.

The relief items were sent from Karachi by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on the direction of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The relief items included 100 tonnes of supplies, including medicines, ready-to-eat meat, tents, tarpaulins, warm bedding, winter clothing, and powdered milk. These items were arranged in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation.

A sendoff ceremony was held at Jinnah International Airport Karachi and attended by  representatives from NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Khidmat Foundation and local administration.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan had earlier sent 11 shipments of relief goods to Palestine and Lebanon.  Prior to this, ten aid consignments were sent to Palestine.

Millions of people have been displaced from Gaza and Lebanon in the Israeli war that started in October last year. The Israeli forces have also killed over 41,000 people including women and children in Gaza.
