ISLAMABAD: With the PTI call for its supporters to march on the federal capital on November 24th, the government has started working on a multi-pronged strategy to ward off the protesters.
While the district administration of Islamabad has sought deployment of paramilitary troops and block roads with hundreds of containers, media reports indicated that the government was also trying to talk to the PTI leadership to call off the protest and thrash out its issued through dialogue.
A government official however said that the demands put forth by the PTI were unrealistic and the party seems only to create law and order situation in the country. How the demand of the PTI could be met when it says that its stolen mandate should be given back to it. This only means to declare the Feb 8th elections null and void and hand over the government to the PTI and release Imran Khan.
The end result is that the PTI would mobilize its supporters and march towards the federal capital, especially from Khyber Pakthunkhwa creating lots of disturbance to routine life and business activities in the whole country.
On the other hand, the government would start blocking roads to Islamabad including the M1 and M2 motorways as well as the GT Road well before November 24th.
As the PTI chief has asked its party leaders snd workers and the general public to come out and join the march and countrywide protests, reports showed that the jailed former prime minister may also be convicted in the Al-Qadir Trust case putting more pressure on him to go for a negotiated settlement.
There are also reports that the PTIĀ leadership was facing lack of unity with some leaders not in favor of a showdown with the government keeping in view the past protests that ended in creating more antagonism within the party.
