Kalash winter festival draws throngs of tourists

PESHAWAR: The ancient and traditional festival of Chawmos is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in the beautiful Kalash valleys of Chitral.

This festival is held every year in the winter season and the Kalash tribe celebrates it with religious devotion and cultural traditions.

The Chawmos festival includes special dances, songs, and religious rituals. Kalash women, dressed in colorful traditional attire, are performing their distinctive dances, while men also participate in cultural songs, expressing their joy.

According to tradition, the locals make offerings to deities and organize collective prayers.

On this occasion, a large number of tourists from across the country are visiting the Kalash valleys to witness this unique festival and experience the ancient culture of the Kalash tribe.
