ISLAMABAD: Hamas has claimed that Pakistan has agreed to host 15 Palestinians released from Israeli jails under the ceasefire deal recently.
Hamas spokesman Khaled Qaddoumi was quoted by Arab media as saying that Israel had released the Palestinians under the Gaza ceasefire agreement and some of them had reached Egypt.
The spokesman said that in addition to Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, Malaysia, Pakistan and Indonesia had also expressed their willingness to host the released prisoners.
According to Arab media, the Hamas spokesman said he had been officially confirmed that Pakistan would host 15 Palestinian prisoners.
The spokesman said, “We thank the Pakistani government, the Pakistani people and the Pakistani establishment for this gesture. This proves that Pakistan is not just a brother but an elder brother who has a spiritual connection with us and has always stood by the cause of al-Quds.”
However, Pakistan has so far not officially confirmed the offer to host the released Palestinian prisoners.
