KARACHI: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that collective measures are the need of the time to deal with unconventional challenges in the maritime sector.
Addressing the Peace Dialogue ceremony on the third day of the Pakistan Navy’s peace exercises, Khawaja Asif said that the global economic system depends on maritime, and it is our collective duty to make joint efforts to protect maritime trade.
He said that the world is going through major economic changes and trade tariffs have emerged as a major challenge. A powerful navy is the guarantor of maritime trade security.
Speaking at the ceremony, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf said that securing the ocean is a priority for promoting the blue economy. He said that the peace exercises will play the role of a bridge between eastern and western countries.
