Pakistan calls for dialogue to restore peace in Sudan

UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram has said that all parties involved in the conflict in Sudan should resolve their issues through dialogue to restore peace in the country.

He said that the parties involved should engage in political dialogue and diplomatic efforts to find a sustainable political resolution of the dispute.

Pakistan’s UN representative reiterated his country’s call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and an unconditional ceasefire in Sudan.

Delivering a statement at the UN Security Council briefing on the situation in Sudan, Ambassador Munir Akram also appealed to the international community to work with the government of Sudan to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the country.
