ADB Announces $3 Million Emergency Aid for Flood Victims

ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced $3 million in emergency assistance for flood-affected communities in Pakistan.

According to an official statement, ADB President visited the Ravi River in Lahore and assessed the damage caused by recent flooding in the region. Following the visit, he approved a $3 million emergency grant to support ongoing flood relief efforts.

The ADB expressed deep concern over the loss of life and property due to the heavy monsoon rains and severe flooding that have impacted various parts of the country.

This announcement comes just days after the United Nations also released $600,000 in emergency assistance for Pakistan to help manage the devastation caused by the monsoon-triggered floods.

Local authorities and humanitarian organizations have welcomed the support, stating that the aid will be crucial in providing immediate relief such as food, clean water, medical supplies, and temporary shelter to thousands of displaced families. Recovery efforts are ongoing as the government continues to assess the full extent of the damage.
