RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has stated that Pakistan possesses authentic and undeniable evidence proving the involvement of illegal Afghan nationals as well as serving Indian Army officers in carrying out terrorist activities on Pakistani soil.
In an interview with a German magazine, the DG ISPR explained that the original reasons for Afghan refugees being granted shelter in Pakistan were foreign interference and prolonged civil war in Afghanistan. According to him, those reasons are no longer valid.
Pakistan, he emphasized, had generously hosted millions of Afghan refugees for more than forty years and subsequently introduced organized measures to ensure their dignified repatriation. Despite Pakistan’s repeated extensions of the repatriation deadline on humanitarian grounds, reliable intelligence has confirmed that many illegal Afghan residents are now actively engaged in terrorism and other serious crimes inside Pakistan.
When asked about India, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif remarked that the violent incidents occurring within India are the direct consequence of New Delhi’s increasingly extremist and hardline policies. He argued that the Indian government consistently attempts to portray its internal crises as external issues, while also presenting external challenges as domestic matters.
Stressing Pakistan’s stance, he asserted that India is directly sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan and that solid evidence exists confirming the involvement of Indian Army officers. These proofs, he added, have already been presented to the global community on multiple occasions.
He further underlined the sharp contrast between Indian state institutions and those of Pakistan, stating that Indian bodies, including its military, are heavily influenced by extremist political ideologies. Pakistan, on the other hand, rejects all non-state actors without any discrimination.
“There is no room in Pakistan for any militias or armed groups, and no individual or organization other than the state itself has the authority to declare jihad,” the DG ISPR affirmed.
Highlighting Pakistan’s sacrifices, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif reminded that the country has served as a frontline state in the international war against terrorism and has paid an immense price in terms of lives and resources.
He also pointed out that, following the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, large stockpiles of American weapons were left behind, which are now being used in terrorist operations. The United States, he noted, has itself expressed concern over the use of this weaponry in acts of terrorism.
Commenting on regional dynamics, the DG ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan continues to maintain deep, constructive, and strategic relations with its brotherly nation, China.
