Afghanistan Promises Its Territory Will Not Be Used Against Any Country

KABUL: Afghanistan has assured Pakistan that its territory will not be used for attacks against any country.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Mutaqi in Kabul during a trilateral meeting of foreign ministers from Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan.

According to Foreign Office, Minister Dar expressed concern over delays in counterterrorism cooperation and urged effective action against attacks originating from Afghan soil. He highlighted the need for verifiable measures against banned groups, including Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) – Mujahid Brigade.

In response, Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister assured that Afghan territory would not be used against any country.

Both sides welcomed positive progress in political and economic ties and agreed to maintain close cooperation to ensure regional peace, stability, and counterterrorism efforts.

The Foreign Office noted that strengthening diplomatic relations up to the ambassadorial level and implementing recent agreements between Islamabad and Kabul have further solidified bilateral ties.

Minister Dar also welcomed increased trade and transit cooperation with Afghanistan.

Pakistan has repeatedly called on Afghanistan to take concrete action against terrorist groups operating from its territory.
