LAHORE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi on Friday declared that the message of “freedom or death” had been received from [PTI founder Imran Khan] from jail, leaving no room for error or hesitation.

Afridi’s remarks came during his address to the PTI’s parliamentary committee meeting at the Punjab Assembly.

Afridi expressed his gratitude toward the leadership of the PTI Punjab, particularly opposition leader Salman Akram Raja and Aaliya Hamza, for their support. However, he criticized the Punjab government, calling it a “vulgar and uncivilized” administration. He also condemned the actions of Punjab police, accusing them of misconduct from Chakri to Lahore. Afridi expressed shock at the behavior of the police, stating that such disrespect was unexpected.

He further expressed his concerns about the state of political decorum in the province, pointing out that the growing trend of disrespect and ill-treatment was detrimental to the spirit of unity and cooperation among the country’s leadership.

“We believe in mutual love and understanding,” he remarked, “but when one side fails to uphold these values, it threatens the harmony needed for the country to move forward.”

Afridi strongly rejected claims by certain political figures who labeled Imran Khan as a security risk, calling them “foolish friends” who failed to see the bigger picture. He stated, “Imran Khan is not a threat to national security. In fact, he represents the very symbol of Pakistan’s stability and security. His leadership has always stood for the people of Pakistan, and this narrative being pushed against him is utterly misplaced.”
