LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has signed an agreement with a leading educational institution to provide academic scholarships to young cricketers across the country.
This initiative aims to help talented players continue their education alongside their cricketing careers.
A signing ceremony was held at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi attending as the chief guest.
Also present were Mike Hesson, Head Coach of Pakistan’s white-ball team; Abdullah Khurram Niazi, Director Domestic Cricket; Junaid Zia, General Manager Domestic; PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed; and the educational institution’s CEO Qasim Qasuri.
Under the agreement, 120 outstanding players from the Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 categories representing 16 regions of the country will receive free education through scholarships. The program will remain in effect for three years.
Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised the educational institution’s initiative, saying it would enable young cricketers to focus on both their sporting and academic goals.
He expressed confidence that this partnership will produce far-reaching results by meeting the educational needs of future cricket stars.
He also announced that the scope of the scholarship program would be expanded to benefit even more players in the future.
