MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has removed Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed from his ministerial position, effective immediately.

Rasheed, who was holding the portfolios of Power Development Organization and Planning and Development, was dismissed on the directives of the prime minister.

According to sources, the decision was linked to internal political differences, particularly over Rasheed’s reported plans to join Pakistan Muslim League (N). His alleged deviation from party policy is said to be the primary reason behind the move.

The reports suggest that speculation about his shifting political loyalties created unrest within government circles, prompting the leadership to take strict action to maintain discipline.

Following his removal, consultations are underway regarding the reassignment of his ministerial responsibilities.
