MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore of Azad Jammu and Kashmir met Leader of the Opposition Shah Ghulam Qadir, to discuss the region’s overall political situation and the upcoming general elections.
The two leaders held detailed talks on the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner for Azad Kashmir. It was mutually agreed that consultations with all political parties would be completed within a week with the aim of finalizing and sending a name for the position at the earliest.
The two sides also expressed their commitment to ensuring that the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir will be held as scheduled within the stipulated time frame. They agreed on the importance of conducting these elections in a manner that is free, fair, and transparent.
In this regard, they pledged that the government and opposition would fully cooperate and fulfill their respective responsibilities to guarantee the integrity of the electoral process.
