KARACHI: Another spell of rain is expected to hit several parts of Pakistan as a western weather system continues to influence the country, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Monday.

The Met Office said the system is likely to remain active until April 9, bringing intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and occasional heavy showers in various regions.

Rain is expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, while snowfall is also likely in mountainous areas.

In Sindh, including Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal, another spell of light to moderate rain is forecast, with chances of heavy downpours and hailstorms at isolated locations.

Officials have warned that repeated rain spells may lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas and advised citizens to take precautionary measures.
