MUZAFFARABAD: On the occasion of Kashmir Martyrs Day commemorating the events of July 13, 1931, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) said that armed struggle is a legitimate right of the Kashmiri people.

In his statement marking the day, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq paid tribute to the martyrs of 1931 who laid down their lives fighting Dogra rule. He said their sacrifice continues to inspire the freedom movement in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have the right to resist foreign occupation through all possible means, including armed struggle,” he declared. He warned that if India does not abandon its repressive policies, it will have to face further humiliation and defeat.

He condemned India’s ongoing human rights abuses and attempts to change the demographic composition of the occupied territory. The Prime Minister called on the international community to take notice of India’s actions and support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Martyrs Day is observed every year on July 13 to honor the memory of 22 Kashmiris who were killed by Dogra forces in 1931 while protesting for their rights.
